Rumoured to be hundreds of years old, Barandir is well respected by the Kings and Queens of many nations and an authority on magical studies and development. Despite that he is known as an incredibly personable and approachable headmaster who is a confidant to many of his staff and students.

A young artificer from Baldur forced to flee because of her homeland's militant approach to magic and magic users. Em is a promising and keen student who was given the opportunity to study under a scholarship, overseen by Barandir himself. As long as she continues to produce goods for the school, she will be able to continue her studies without having to pay a coin.

A young Tiefling girl whose earliest memories are in the chains of a Sudd Tohsti Sheikh. After making a pact with Markamin, the God of Chaos, she was able to flee and find safety beyond the badlands of Sudd Tohst. Though she discovered the downsides of making a pact with a God of Chaos, thus she travelled to the University of Ardris to better learn about and contain these aspects of her new life.

A Half-Elf Sorceress from Havenmond, Orstina is well travelled across Tharador, having done her studies in Brightstone's Bruderland College. She now is temporarily teaching as a Professor of Transference at Ardris, though the reasons for her appearance there are a mystery to students. In reality she is there to oversee the autopsy of the Riverstalker Cadaver that was brought to Ardris from her own college.

An automaton from the continent of Edrador. Wreathe is a "Soulforged" — an artificial construct imbued with the soul of a forgotten citizen of the Anshani Empire. His past life is far beyond his memory, and such a thought has haunted him for all his years. For he knows that his memory is impending to reset again, thus he travelled to Tharador in an attempt to halt this process, and try save himself from what he sees as essentially death.

A creature of the deep and an agent of the Voice. It blindly lists through the catacombs, sewers and halls of Ardris, moving through echolocation. It is able to consume the body of any humanoid and assume its form, though the assumed form is imperfect having empty eye sockets and unable to verbally communicate. It searches for the body of the Riverstalker held by the university, so it can halt the study of it and return it to the sea.

Mana Goblins live in the catacombs beneath the University of Ardris. Over centuries they have amassed a hoarding of stolen magical artifacts, scrolls and other trinkets that they aren't entirely sure of. Often the items they steal end in their own demise through self-destruction, but sometimes a particularly crafty goblin might work it out for their own betterment. The best of these are the mana goblins — goblin magic wielders who have mastered the use of potions and magic, acting as a formidable foe to even seasoned adventurers.

A demonic jester that lures travelers with its enchanting music before devouring them. It has recently been spotted in the sewers beneath The University of Ardris, where its melodies can be heard echoing through the pipes, tempting students into the darkness. Its ultimate goal is unknown, but anyone who falls under its spell is never seen again.

One of the more powerful spawns from the great creature of the deep, Quorenderi. The Voice guides its Listeners through telepathic means, each of its Listeners dedicated to a single mission of The Voices' accord. The Voice is enormous, and should it die, one of its Listeners will go through the rigorous process to evolve to take its place.
